Gneeveguilla National School Parents Association
Gneeveguilla Parents Association was established in September 2008 when a group of parents came together and it was decided that a meeting would be held in order to form a committee. The Parents Association is the structure through which parents/guardians in the school can work together in order to improve and enrich the education of their children.
The Parents Association works with the Principal, Staff and the Board of Management to promote the interests of the children. Our two main aims for the 2016/2017 school year are to get more parents/guardians involved and to look at new fundraising ideas.
Activities the Parent’s Association organise and contribute towards:
- Swimming Lessons
- Safety Cycling Course
- School Garden
- Halloween Disco
- Christmas Calenders
- Party for Communion Class
- Presentation of Medals for Sixth Class Pupils
- Educational Software
- Board Games
Majority of funding comes from:
- Bag Packing
- 5K Fun Run
- Halloween Disco
- Book Fair
The Parents Association meetings are open to everyone and a text is sent out from the school to make everyone aware of these meetings. The Parents Association welcomes any new ideas and suggestions in relation to fundraising and what we as an organisation are doing in the school. We have fantastic parents/guardians in our school who are always to help and without this support the Parents Association could not exist…
